The March 2022 next-gen patch is what makes Dying Light worth revisiting on PlayStation 5. It adds three selectable modes - Performance at 60fps in Full HD, Balanced at 60fps in QHD and High Resolution at 30fps in 4K - along with a 25% increase in view distance, a meaningful change in an open world built around rooftop parkour and long sightlines. Balanced is the sweet spot: 1440p keeps the image clean while 60fps keeps the free-running responsive. On PS4 and PS4 Pro the game remains the original 30fps release; the patch improved PS4 Pro stability but added no new modes. There is no PS5 Pro-specific version, so Pro simply runs the PS5 modes.
