Dragon Ball FighterZ — PS5 & PS5 Pro performance
Technical analysis last updated
Dragon Ball FighterZ received a native PS5 version on 29 February 2024, offered as a free upgrade to owners of the PS4 edition. The two headline changes are a boosted 4K presentation and, far more important competitively, rollback netcode, which cuts input lag and the visual stuttering that plagued the original delay-based online play. The game has always targeted 60fps - the baseline requirement for a fighting game - on PS4 as well, so the current-gen build is about image quality and online stability rather than frame rate. No pixel-counted analysis has been published, so we cannot confirm whether the PS5 output is native or reconstructed 4K, nor whether VRR or 120Hz are supported. No PS5 Pro-specific patch has been documented, and Push Square noted online connection problems in custom lobbies shortly after the current-gen launch.
