RoboCop: Rogue City — PS5 & PS5 Pro performance
Technical analysis last updated
RoboCop: Rogue City is a visually impressive showcase for Unreal Engine 5 feature implementation on console, incorporating software Lumen GI, software Lumen reflections, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Nanite virtualised geometry. On PS5, the game offers a 30fps Quality Mode running at 1440p internal resolution and a 60fps Performance Mode. Quality Mode provides a generally stable 30fps experience with cleaner Lumen lighting, whereas Performance Mode suffers from noticeable frame drops during open-world traversal and heavy combat. Lack of working motion blur across most of the game makes Quality Mode feel choppier than intended, but it remains the recommended option for stability.

Known issues
Motion blur setting fails to function in almost all missions, causing 30fps Quality Mode to look choppier than expected.
Unreal Engine traversal stutters occur during world movement, causing brief pauses of 100ms or longer.
Performance mode fails to sustain a steady 60 fps, resulting in noticeable frame drops during gameplay.
Pixelated artifacts appear for one frame during early-game cutscene transitions, attributed to the upscaler.
Visible delay in high-detail textures loading during gameplay.
