Risk of Rain 2 launched on PS4 in 2020 and received a free native current-gen upgrade on 27 August 2024, released alongside the Seekers of the Storm expansion. Gearbox lists the current-gen build as 4K at 60fps with split-screen local multiplayer restored, plus PS5-specific extras: Activities, progressive trophies, DualSense light-bar colour mapping and controller speaker sounds. Those are publisher figures, not measured ones - no outlet has published pixel counts or frame-time captures, so it is unknown whether the 4K is native or reconstructed. The upgrade launched in poor shape across platforms, with the Seekers of the Storm update tying physics behaviour to frame rate and PS5 players reporting broken single-player and character selection at release.
